“What is the best diet”? I get this question from time to time and the answer is there isn’t one.
Here’s Why. It is simple people are diverse that simple.
Body types are different tall thin, short stocky and everything in between.
Fitness levels and body composition. People can be active and strong, some are sedentary and frail.
Dietary preferences can play a big role in people’s decision on what to eat. They could be Kosher, plant-based, carnivores or maybe they are just “picky eaters”. Allergies can play a big role in the decision on what to eat.
Budget even though not really thought about by most, for some it really is a big role in how they choice a diet. Broke student, middle class family living pay check to pay check. Even a high paying executive will have a diet based on budget.
Choosing to eat only organic grown vegetables from a backyard garden or maybe organic doesn’t matter and they chose to live on boxed packaged foods.
Ethnic background and heritage plays a role in what we enjoy consuming. What did your parents feed you as a kids? What did their parents feed them? What traditions do you have around food that have possible been passed down from generation to generations?
There are other points to be made but you get the idea.
There isn’t a single nutrition philosophy that is right for everyone. Good nutrition isn’t about the following rules or being on point all the time. It’s about being happy, healthier, having fuller lives with energy to do what you love.
